Richard Roddis Searle, elected to
the Cochise County Board of Supervisors in 2004, grew up on his family’s ranch
in the Dragoon Mountains near Pearce. He graduated high school from Valley Union
in Elfrida and has a degree in business from Western New Mexico University,
Silver City, NM. He was a banker in the area for 14 years before running for
Supervisor in 2004. He has been very active in the area, serving three years as
a director for the Willcox Chamber of Commerce, four years as director of the
Pearce/Sunsites Chamber of Commerce, and three years on the Cochise County
Industrial Development Authority. Searle also serves on the Valley Union High
School Board of Education which he has been a member of since 2001.
