NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Cochise County Board of Supervisors hereby gives notice that a public hearing will be held at or after 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 1415 Melody Lane, Building G, Bisbee, Arizona to consider the following:

Docket Z-09-04, Casa Adobe Unit 2: This is a request to consider a "downzoning" of ten abutting or nearby lots under County ownership from SR-8 (Single Household Residential, minimum lot size 8,000 square feet) District to an RU-4 (Rural, minimum lot size 4-acres) District to create buildable lots in an area not served by sanitary sewer service and, therefore, not able to build a home on an 8,000 square foot lot.  The parcels are owned by the State/County as a result of tax default liens and the County would sell the parcels with the RU-4 designation.  If the rezoning is approved, portions of undeveloped road right-of-way would be abandoned by the County in a separate action in order to create minimum 4-acre parcels within the larger 323-acre land area.  The parcels are 405-66-063, 865, 894, 896, 897, 898, 899, 900, 901, and 902, totaling about 323 acres, and are located in a remote area and adjacent to a partially abandoned subdivision named Casa Adobe Unit 2 located south of Double Adobe Road between Central Highway and SR 191 within Township 22 South, Range 26 East and Section 23 N and Northeast of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Cochise County, Arizona.  Applicant: Planning and Zoning Commission for Cochise County.  The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the rezoning on June 10, 2009.

Details of the above docket are on file at the Cochise County Planning Department, 1415 Melody Lane, Building E, Bisbee, Arizona, and may be examined during the office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please contact Planning Manager Susana Montana at (520) 432-9252 or by email at smontana@cochise.az.gov.  All persons interested in said matter may appear at said public hearing at said time and place and show cause, if any they have, why said downzoning should or should not be granted.
